The Second U.S. Ebola patient has been identified

The Dallas health care worker who contacted the Ebola virus over the weekend has been identified as nurse Nina Pham, her family confirmed.

Nurse Pham is 26 years old and was  infected while treating Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian Ebola patient who was also the first Ebola victim to die in the United States. Nina graduated from Texas Christian University's nursing program in 2010,she is the first person known to contract the disease while in the United States.

Across the nation, health care professionals continued to evaluate the best way to treat U.S. Ebola patients should in case more victims emerge. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases was asked on "ABC's Good Morning America" if Ebola patients should be sent only to highly specialized "containment" hospitals.

"That is something that should be seriously considered," the immunologist, said.

Oscar Pistorius awaits his sentence for killing

Oscar Pistorius the onetime South African sporting hero found guilty of killing his girlfriend but cleared of murder in her death has returned to court today Monday for the hearing that will determine if he's going to prison.

The sentencing decision will rest with Judge Thokozile Masipa, who presided over his high-profile trial and delivered the verdict last month.

Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide, the South African term for unintentionally, but unlawfully, killing a person -- a charge akin to manslaughter.
However, Masipa cleared him of murder in the killing of model and law graduate Reeva Steenkamp. He was granted bail pending the sentencing hearing.

The hearing is likely to take several days, as both prosecution and defense will have the chance to put their arguments and evidence before the court for Masipa to consider.
There is no legal minimum or maximum sentence for culpable homicide in South African law, so it will be up to the judge to decide.
A typical sentence is five to eight years. But it is a principle of South African law that the sentence should be tailored to the culprit as a whole person, as opposed to the crime. That makes predicting a sentence difficult, said Kelly Phelps, a CNN legal analyst.

The judge also found Pistorius guilty of one weapons-related charge involving a shooting at a restaurant.
The maximum penalty for that is five years behind bars. But he could get a lesser sentence, such as a fine or the loss of his gun license.

It's likely that a pre-sentence report will be presented to the court, which may recommend a sentence -- although the judge is not bound by it. Also, both the prosecution and defense probably will tell the court what they consider an appropriate sentence to be.

Meet the girl who had a three-inch leech in her nose for a MONTH

If only you can see my facial expression as I type this! Like seriously a leech , blood sucking creature in somebody's nose, how did it get there ? Of all part in the body , it's her nose  ..ewwwwww .. #sick#

A backpacker who suffered from persistent nosebleeds was shocked to discover it was caused by a three-inch-long leech that has been living up her nose for a month.
Daniela Liverani had been travelling around south-east Asia when she was involved in a motorbike crash.

So she thought the lump poking from the bottom of her nose was congealed blood from a burst blood vessel after the accident.
But days after returning home to Edinburgh she was irritated to find that it was the head of a huge leech which had set up camp in her nostril.

After first trying to blow the leech out, and grab it with her fingers, the graduate, 24, was rushed to A&E to have the creature removed with forceps and tweezers.

Updated : Health care worker at Dallas hospital tests positive to Ebola

Reports from CNN says healthcare worker at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has tested positive for Ebola after a preliminary test, the state's health agency said.
Confirmatory testing will be conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

The employee helped care for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person ever diagnosed with Ebola in the United States. Duncan died on Wednesday.
"We knew a second case could be a reality, and we've been preparing for this possibility," Dr. David Lakey, commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, said in a statement Sunday morning.

"We are broadening our team in Dallas and working with extreme diligence to prevent further spread."
If confirmed by the CDC, the healthcare worker's case would mark the first known transmission of Ebola in the United States and the second-ever diagnosis in the country.

David Sanders, associate professor at biological sciences at Purdue University, said he thinks the CDC testing will likely support the preliminary results.
"It sounds likely that it's positive, and it's going to stay positive."
Globally, the disease has wrought catastrophic consequences.

The World Health Organization estimates more than 8,300 have contracted Ebola during the current outbreak. Of those, more than 4,000 people have died.

REVEALED : Jihadi kidnap and murder handbook and plan to infiltrate British Army and police

Islamic fanatics are planning to infiltrate Britain’s Army and police forces to carry out brutal attacks, a chilling manifesto for terror used by Islamic State (IS) reveals.

The jihadi manual explains how the atrocities committed in the Middle East – including the brutal murders of British hostages David Haines and Alan Henning – are part of a wider strategy that includes plans to wreak mayhem in the UK.

The development comes after security sources revealed yesterday that thousands of terror suspects are being monitored in the UK. The Association of Chief Police Officers has also warned police officers about their personal safety in light of the threat from IS.

Neither the Metropolitan Police nor the Ministry of Defence were willing last night to discuss the security procedures in place.
The 268-page terrorism guide called The Management Of Savagery reveals IS’s intention to:

-Target tourists at locations across the Islamic world
-Exploit the propaganda value of targeting Western journalists, and to try to capture oil workers
-Strike the same strategic targets repeatedly in a bid to expose weaknesses in Western security.

Deadly suicide blast rocks Iraq capital

At least about 28 killed in a string of attacks in Baghdad amid growing fears that Anbar province could fall to ISIL fighters.

About 35 people have been killed and scores wounded in a series of attacks in Iraq, medical and police officials say.

At least 13 people were killed in two car bombs in Shia-dominated parts of western Baghdad on Saturday night. A third blast killed another 15 people, Reuters news agency reported.

Also on Saturday, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives belt in a market 28km north of Baghdad, between the towns of Tarmiyah and Mishahda, killing at least seven people and wounding 25 others. The area has been the scene of clashes between Iraqi forces and Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighters, who have taken control of large sections of northern and western Iraq this year.
In other violence, four Iraqi soldiers died in a friendly-fire incident in the town of Udaim, 90km northeast of
Baghdad.

The soldiers, who had been wounded by ISIL fighters, were being taken to hospital when Shia volunteer fighters mistook them for ISIL fighters and fired a rocket-propelled grenade at their vehicle, police and medical officials said.
Saturday's violence came amid warnings that the ISIL was close to taking over the whole of western Anbar province.
US Defence officials said Iraqi government forces were in a "tenuous" position in Anbar province, where the few remaining government-controlled areas have come under repeated attack from ISIL.
"It's tenuous there. They are being resupplied and they're holding their own, but it's tough and challenging," said a senior defence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Friday.

"They believe that it is just a matter of days, up to 10 days, and ISIL can control the whole province of Anbar.
Anbar is the biggest province in Iraq and it also borders Syria, which means that ISIL an open supply line between its strongholds in Iraq as well as in Syria. It is also within the doorsteps of Baghdad," Khodr said.
Parts of Anbar province fell to ISIL at the start of the year and most of the rest was seized by the group in a lightning sweep through Iraq's Sunni Arab heartland in June.

Many killed at Kirikiri prison..

According to PM news many inmates of the Kirikiri Medium Prison in Lagos were reportedly killed Friday following a protest by inmates over the isolation of one of them.
According to an insider’s report, the isolated inmate, who also leads a Christian programme within the prisons had bought a microphone and a fan from his funds kept with the prison officials.
But the deputy prison controller, Kayode Adeyemi said to be leaving the prison for a course, was said to have disapproved the purchase and ordered that the prisoner be locked up in isolation as punishment.
This sparked the row with other inmates, who threw stones and pebbles at the warders.
The deputy prison controller reportedly ordered the prison police unit to shoot at sight.
This led to shots being fired at the mob of inmates and deaths of many.
There were no reactions yet from the prison authorities.
Another account however said that the trouble started when Adeyemi, assembled all the inmates for a formal introduction of a new Deputy Controller Mr. Okocha.
The event was said to have turned into a protest by inmates, who accused Adeyemi of highhandedness.

Austrian girls who joined ISIS may be pregnant and want to return home...

Two Austrian teenage girls who became ‘poster girls’ for jihad in Syria are now eager to come home after getting disillusioned with their new lifestyles.
Samra Kesinovic who is 17 and her friend Sabina Selimovic, 15, they both grew up in the Austrian capital Vienna, were convinced to head to Syria and take part in the holy war in April.

The girls had started lecturing schoolmates about their lifestyle and when they left Vienna in April they left a note telling their parents: 'Don’t look for us. We will serve Allah – and we will die for him'.
It is believed that upon their arrival to Syria they were married off to local fighters and both girls are thought to be pregnant.
Police in their homeland Austria say that the girls' social media accounts were taken over and manipulated to broadcast what they now think were fake messages about the life they were having, and using them as poster girls to encourage other young girls to head to Syria.

Nobel Prize award : Malala and Satyarthi awarded

Pakistani 17-year-old and Indian activist share peace award for "their struggle against the suppression of children".
Pakistani schoolgirl and education activist Malala Yousufzai and Indian children's rights activist Kailash Satyarthi have been jointly awarded the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee cited the two "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.''
It awarded the prize saying that peaceful global development can only come about if children and the young are respected.
Malala, 17, is the youngest person to be awarded the prestigious honour. She was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 after campaigning for girls' education.

Satyarthi, 60, has maintained the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi and headed various forms of peaceful protests, "focusing on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain," the Nobel committee said.

He has led the rescue of tens of thousands of child slaves and developed a successful model for their education and rehabilitation.
Satyarthi told Al Jazeera's Karishma Vyas that he was very thankful to the Nobel committee and that this recognition "is the recognition of many voices of children who are victims of servitude, not just in India but the across the world".

He said that it was a great honour for his country, and he hopes the award encourages the Indian government to pay more attention to the plight of children who are forced to work.

The Nobel Prizes in medicine , chemistry , physics and literature were announced earlier this week. The economics award will be announced on Monday.

All awards will be handed out on December 10 in Oslo.

British school bans nine-year-old from Sierra Leone because parents fear he could give classmates Ebola

A British school has banned a nine-year-old from Sierra Leone because parents of wards fear that the boy could give his classmates Ebola.

Kofi Mason-Sesay, who has joint nationality that is British and Sierra Leonean nationality to spend several weeks at St Simon's Catholic Primary School in Stockport.
However, the placement was cancelled after 'ignorant' parents campaigned against Kofi or his British mother Miriam going to the school, fearing they could pass on the disease which has killed at least 678 people in Sierra Leone.
Below is the letter sent to Kofi's parent

Dear Parents/Carers,
It was with a very heavy heart that Mr Coleing, Chair of Governors, and I took the pragmatic decision to cancel Miriam and Kofi’s visit to St Simon’s this month.
Since the Ebola outbreak I have given constant thought to Miriam’s visit. I have been in regular contact with the local authority who put me in touch with Dr David Baxter’s team (Stockport) and Public Health England. I have also been in touch with Miriam who sent me links to documentation. The governors discussed the visit last Thursday.
Miriam and her son have been screened, given a 1 rating, which gives them unrestricted movement in this country. Our government would not allow this if they thought there was any significant risk.
I understand that there is a lot of misinformation about how Ebola is spread. A significant number of parents have been in touch with me to express their fears. As you know, I always listen to parents. Ebola cannot be spread as some parents have suggested.
There are many parents who believe that the visit should have gone ahead and that we are contributing to misunderstandings by cancelling it.
In this instance, it has been very hard to juggle justice to Miriam and the views of parents. Of course I would never endanger any child or colleague and I have to put my trust in the professionals.
It is with great sadness that we decided to cancel the visit; the misguided hysteria emerging is extremely disappointing, distracting us from our core purpose of educating your children and is not an environment that I would wish a visitor to experience.
I propose that we make a sizeable donation to Educaid in recognition of the tremendous contribution made by Miriam to Sierra Leone, a country which has received more than its share of setbacks. Please send in whatever you can over the next week and we will make sure that it goes straight to those who need it most.
Best wishes,
Elizabeth Inman

EFCC docks two fake car dealers for N6.1m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today October 2, 2014 arraigned the duo of Alhaji Abdul Ahmadu and Bello Isa before Justice Farouq Lawal of the Kano State High Court on a 3-count charge bordering on criminal breach of trust and obtaining money by false pretence.

The accused persons allegedly induced one Alhaji Mohammed Sani Utai to part with the sum of N6, 100,000 (Six Million One Hundred Thousand Naira Only) under the pretext that they were going to sell a Mercedes Benz GLK car to him. After obtaining the money in various tranches, the car was neither delivered nor was his money returned.

One of the charge reads, “that you Alhaji Abdu Ahmadu and Bello Isa sometime in 2012, at Kano within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Kano State with intent to defraud obtained the sum of N2, 600, 000 (Two Million Six Hundred Thousand Naira only) from Mohammed Sani Utai by falsely representing that you had a Mercedes Benz GLK for sale and that you were capable of securing delivery of the said Mercedes Benz car to him, which pretence you knew to be false and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(1)(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under section 1(3) of the same Act”.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them.

Justice Lawal adjourned the case to October 13, 2014 for hearing of bail application and commencement of trial.

South African Media Confirms Legitimacy Of Nigeria's $9.3m Arms Deal

South African media have published documents confirming the legitimacy of the $9.3million arms deals between Nigeria and the former apartheid enclave.
Reports by Rapport and City Press affirmed federal government’s official position that the transactions were legitimate.
The media houses said contrary to insinuations, end user certificates and a ‘shopping’ list accompanied the transactions as well as a note from Nigerian government authorizing the deals.
According to the reports, documents showed that the earlier consignment was approved by the Nigerian government  through the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA), which is officially mandated to issue the end-user certificate for such transactions involving the nation’s security agencies.
An entire “shopping list” was also said to have been supplied with the certificate, which included everything from helicopters to unmanned aircraft, rockets and ammunition.
A top security source in the intelligence service disclosed that“In issuing end-user certificate, the ONSA ensures that it carries all relevant agencies and stakeholders along. Therefore, such a responsibility is not a unilateral development.
“For security reasons, the chains leading to the issuance of end-user certificate cannot be put in the public domain.

“The recent interest in arms purchase was informed by the challenges of insurgency which our nation had been grappling with in the last few years. This is why the understanding of all Nigerians is necessary.
“Nigeria is desperate to counter activities of terrorists no matter what it takes even when some of our friends are not being fair to us.
“The government appeals to the media and all Nigerians, especially the opposition, to consider the overall national interest on security issues. They should not read negative meaning to every good intention of government in tackling insecurity in the country”.
Continuing, the source said“The federal government and some top intelligence officers are concerned about how some officials of South Africa decided to frustrate the efforts of Nigeria at containing the activities of terrorists operating in the North-Eastern axis.”

DailyPost reported that there are concerns that despite the leeway given to South African companies to thrive in Nigeria, there are still officials of the country who are determined to frustrate Nigeria, which in April this year overtook South Africa as Africa’s largest economy.
Government loyalists insist that the botched deal is being used by some prominent persons for political reasons.
They also accused“vested interests”of wishing the war against insurgency was not won.
On the latest story of seizure of over $5million by South Africa, those in security circles say it may just be a refreshment of the old story with a new angle.

Oh my !! Kids , old women carry arms to defend themselves from ISIS

Its not like they have a choice though, Turkish families that have been stucked in Kobane,Syria ,have taking up arms to defend themselves ,because ISIS is close to taking over their town. This is happening because US airstrikes have failed to stop the terrorist from spreading towards the city.

Web sites like Dailymail, CNN and BBC,also Kurdish officials have warned thousands of  citizens to flee as they can no longer protect them .The prime minister said the fall of the city is imminent as airstrikes can't stop the dreaded ISIS
So,families, kids, women etc who cannot run have taken up guns, in an attempt to defend their city .Too many Kurdish girls, and women have been captured and sold as slaves by ISIS and the men are executed.

Deilar Kanj Khamis is the first female Kurdish fighter to carry out a suicide bomb attack against ISIS. The class teacher who joined ISIS, fled after seeing horrific beheading

A Syrian woman named Khadija has revealed how she was lured away from her life as a school teacher and became a member of a female ISIS brigade before fleeing the group after witnessing crucifixions and beheadings.

The defector, only known as Khadija, grew up in Syria and taught elementary school pupils in the country, but left her old life after being convinced to join ISIS by a man she met online.
She became a member of the group's female brigade, who are tasked with patrolling the streets of Raqqa, making sure other women adhere to the rules of the Islamic State.

South Africa Burst Another Secret Nigeria Arms Deal, Seizes $5.7m

South African authorities yet again seized  another US$5.7 million arms money from Nigeria.

Barely three weeks after South Africa seized  $9.3 million in cash transported by two Nigerians and an Israeli for arms purchase. A transaction that the news spread like wild fire  in Nigeria after it became known that the private jet involved belonged to the head of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ayo Oritsejafor.

South Africa-based City Express reports that as with the first deal, South Africa’s Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority seized the $5.7 million (about N952 million) for allegedly being the proceeds of illegal transactions.

The latest transaction, according to the paper, was between Cerberus Risk Solutions, an arms broker in Cape Town, and Societe D’Equipments Internationaux, said to be a Nigerian company based in Abuja. The deal allegedly fell apart after Cerberus which had earlier received from Nigeria R60 million (N1.02 billion) in its  account at Standard Bank, tried to repay the money as it could not resolve its registration formalities with the South African authorities.

“Cerberus was previously registered as a broker with the National Conventional Arms Control Committee (NCACC), but the registration expired in May this year,” City Press said.
“The marketing and contracting permits also expired at the same time. The company has since applied for re-registration, but the application lay in the NCACC’s mailbox for more than two months. Sources told Rapport that Cerberus apparently tried to pay the money back to the Nigerian company, after which the bank became suspicious,” the paper reported.
The paper added that while the NPA’s Asset Forfeiture Unit subsequently obtained a court order in the South Gauteng High Court to seize the money, the NPA spokesperson Nathi Mncube, said there were no indications the two transactions were related.
“However, both are now the subject of a.        criminal investigation and all possible information and connections are being investigated,”
Mr. Mncube was quoted as saying.

Shrien Dewani arrives in the dock to face trial over the honeymoon murder of his new bride Anni

Shrien Dewani is finally facing justice over his alleged role in the shooting of his new bride today as his murder trial is scheduled to begin.

The parents of murdered Anni Dewani will be sitting just feet away from the dock as the wealthy care home owner is expected to enter pleas to a string of charges including murder, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.
Vinod and Nilma Hindocha have described as 'torture' their almost four-year wait to hear how their daughter was killed on her honeymoon, her body found in an abandoned car on the edge of a South African township.

Mrs Dewani's sister Ami, brother Anish, uncle Ashok and cousin Nishma are also expected to attend the hearing at the High Court in Cape Town, a few miles from where she was killed in November 2010.
Swedish Mrs Dewani, an engineer, died from a single gunshot to the neck after the taxi she and her new husband were being driven in was 'carjacked' by two armed men in Gugulethu, a township outside town.

Dewani and the driver escaped unharmed while Mrs Dewani was driven off alone.
The driver and two other men have already been jailed over the fatal shooting – at least one of them, driver Zola Tongo, is expected to give evidence at Dewani's trial.
He told his own murder trial how Dewani promised him R15,000 (£850) in return for having his new wife killed.

Prosecutors are expected to say that Tongo recruited two men to stage a 'carjacking' as a cover for the contract killing.
Bristol-based Dewani, 34, who was treated for post-traumatic stress disorder and depression after his wife's death, launched a protracted legal battle which lasted more than three years to avoid facing justice in South Africa.

But in April, a panel of High Court judges quashed his appeal against an earlier judgement and ruled he was fit to stand trial.
Much of the evidence presented in court is also likely to prove excruciating for Dewani's own family, who will be sitting close to the parents of his alleged victim in the cramped court room.
The two families, once close, have not been in contact since Dewani's arrest more than three years ago.

South African prosecutors are expected to say at the Western Cape High Court to say that Mr Dewani was a closet homosexual who ordered his 28 year old wife's death to escape from a marriage he felt pressured into by convention and his family.
According to statements to police made by a male prostitute, Dewani lived a double life in which he paid for sadomasochistic sex, fuelled by drugs and bondage paraphernalia.

Leopold Leisser, who styles himself the German Master, claims Dewani paid for three sex sessions during which he asked to be slapped and verbally abused with racially insulting slang.
We are not going to get Anni back, we know that, but we need to know the truth so we can move on with our lives.'

Mrs Dewani's grieving father said he believed the South African authorities have a strong case against his son-in-law.
'Three people are already convicted and all their fingers are pointing at him,' Mr Hindocha, 65, said. 'He has to answer these questions, he never has.
'They have been convicted and that must mean they are telling the truth. The suggestions of that police forced them to confess are total rubbish in my view.'
The trial is expected to last at least two months.

Marijuana Use Affects Future Generations

Thought it wise to post this article about the effect of marijuana on the future generation, read and share your thoughts in the comment okay... I appreciate .

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai released a recent study about the effects of marijuana use by parents, on their children, as they grow into adults.
Professor of psychiatry and neuroscience, and the study’s senior author, Yasmin Hurd, PhD, said
“Our study emphasizes that cannabis [marijuana] affects not just those exposed, but has adverse affects on future generations.”
Cross-generation vulnerability to addictions and compulsive behaviors increase when parents previously used the drug, researchers found.  Further research to observe if grandchildren and great-grandchildren are affected is ongoing.
Experimental animal studies have demonstrated a link between casual adolescent usage and later behavioral and neurological abnormalities. The findings showed parental history of THC exposure can affect molecular characteristics, impact offspring, and possibly enhance the risk of

psychiatric disorders in subsequent generations.
This important observation about the dangers of pre-parental use should be an active part of the discussion at this time regarding the legalization of medical and recreational use of marijuana. This type of information is crucial for society to form correct guidelines and laws, and in helping develop successful programs for addiction prevention.
Researchers said,
“The findings open up potential new treatment interventions to try to reverse cross-generational drug use.”
However as yet, no reliable interventions have been offered.
According to Dr. Dan Siegel of UCLA, young people do not have the brain development to adequately consider the consequences of their actions. And if this epigenetic information is accurate, and young people may be pre-disposed to addiction by a parent’s use of marijuana, we have some real reasons for concern. It is incomprehensible to a teen or young adult that their actions today can change the lives of potential future children or grandchildren.  A healthy lifestyle, which includes physical and mental healthful activities, is encouraged for everyone.

As they conclude the rites of the Hajj and prepare to return home, let us all join them in offering special prayers for greater security, peace, unity and progress in our dear country as well as for the peaceful and successful conduct of next year’s general elections.

With this week’s issuance of a formal notice of the impending general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), another national campaign season is now truly upon us and I urge all political leaders in the country to place the overriding interest of the well-
being and progress of our fatherland above all other considerations in the coming campaigns and elections.

My administration has done its sincere best in the past four years to implement its agenda for national transformation and move our country forward on several fronts.
I thank the many individuals, stakeholders, groups, associations, non-governmental organisations, unions and political leaders from across the country who have, in recognition and appreciation of our efforts and commitment to repositioning our dear nation for more rapid growth and
development, urged me to seek a second term in office.

In deciding on an appropriate response to such calls, I will place the greater interests of national harmony, cohesion, unity, security, political stability, progress, equity, justice and fairness above any personal ambition or sectional agenda.
I urge all other political leaders in the country to do the same. Let us all rise above unedifying, unpatriotic and selfish personal interests and divisive sectional agenda in the coming national elections.

Let us also commit ourselves more to the sustenance of democracy and political stability which are essential prerequisites for the advancement of good governance, inclusive economic growth and rapid development.

In spite of the significant progress we have made in the past four years, our dear nation continues to face critical challenges in some areas. I am convinced however that if we persevere and continue to build diligently on what the present administration has achieved, we will surely overcome all hindrances and fully establish a stronger, more united and prosperous nation that meets the aspirations and yearnings of all of our people.

As we celebrate the Eid-El-Kabir, let us also rededicate and commit ourselves to the Holy Prophet’s injunctions of piety, honesty, charity and generosity to the less privileged, impartial leadership and true justice for all.
These virtues and lessons will surely stand our nation in good stead as we continue our journey towards the fulfillment of our founding fathers’ vision of a great nation.

May Allah’s blessings be upon all our compatriots who have undertaken the Hajj this year and on our dear country.

I wish all Nigerians currently in the Holy Land a safe journey back home.

Happy Eid-El-Kabir to you all.

BREAKING NEWS: British aid worker Alan Henning beheaded by ISIS

A new video appearing to show the beheading of British aid worker Alan Henning held captive by ISIS has appeared online.

In the sad footage, posted to YouTube, an Islamic State fighter clad in black gestures at the camera with a knife before the attack begins.
The clip shows a fighter, who is believed to be Jihadi John, standing next to Henning as he kneels on the ground in the middle of the desert.

The footage begins with an English-language news report broadcast on the night Parliament voted to approve airstrikes against Islamic State.
In the footage, Henning says: 'I am Alan Henning. Because of our parliament’s decision to attack the Islamic state I as a member of the British public will now pay the price for that decision.

In a clear and fluent London accent, the fighter adds: 'The blood of David Haines was on your hands Cameron, Alan Henning will also be slaughtered but his blood is on the hands of the British parliament.

'Obama you have started your aerial bombardment which keeps on striking our people, so it’s only right we continue to strike the necks of your people.'
The video ends with the militant threatening a man the identified as American Peter Kassig, a veteran of the Iraq war.

The apparent beheading, which has not yet been confirmed by the Foreign Office, comes just three days after Mr Henning's wife Barbara issued a tearful plea to the group.

Why Abubakar Shekau May Get A National Award Soon - Imoh David

I was surfing the Internet and saw this article by Imoh David and decided to share . Please read and drop your comments . I appreciate it.

It is not of my practice to celebrate failure, fraud, burial and bed-ridden conditions. Why would anyone be celebrating the sick-man on his bed? To encourage him to death, to mock him or to express elation over his condition? If the national award was ceremoniously gifted to governor T A Orji of Abia State, Peter Odili, and others who made giant footprints in the sands of mediocrity, then anything is "celebratable".

Men who went into the home of corruption and married her daughters, impregnated under-development and brought home their children are the type men we hang medals of valor around their necks with smiles on our faces, chorusing "Well done son; you did us proud, please do it again!" And you think we are sane in the head? Yes we are sane; for in the house of mediocrity, mediocrity is the admired and desired of virtues. In short, to not be a mediocre is to incur the collective wrath of the Gods of the land; the Gods of mediocrity. And you will pay dearly for not being mediocre.

In the congregation of the corrupt, it is an offense and taboo against the tradition of the land to be incorruptible. It is a sin to be incorruptible in the mist of the corrupt. Greater of a blasphemy it is to fight corruption and speak against it. The most mediocre and corrupt of all are the heroes and those who wear the medals of valor. No other place celebrates mediocrity and awards corruption like the Nigerian State. As a matter of fact, the National Award is where and how we celebrate the most mediocre and corrupt of Nigerians. If a few individuals with the right merits are awarded, not only is it accidental but they are in a ratio of 1:599 thieves. If 600 individuals are awarded with the National Honors, only one or two of them deserved it, the others are merely a reflection of the espirit de corps of the corrupt camaradie.
Nigeria is such that if Abubakar Shekau of Boko Haram were to accept amnesty today, few hours after accepting the amnesty, he will be given a government position, protected by army escorts, given a contract to secure the Nigerian-Cameroun border against terrorists and finally he will be given a National Award - BCON (Bombadier Commander of the Niger). Don't you just admire the country?

Good people great nation. So good they are that they award those who rob and oppress them. Loot their money and treasury, they will call you "Honourable". Become a governor and destroy their roads and impoverish them they will call you and award you a GCON (Grande Corrupt Of Nigerians).
But will happen if you are the type that fight corruption? You will contest elections over and over again. If by chance you had a position in the government, they will either try to assassinate you or demote you unceremoniously and you will be forced to go into exile in a foreign land. If you come out to speak-up against the corruption and cluelessness of the government, they will call you a Boko Haram sponsor or member. Good people, great nation.

It is better to call goats on stage and hang medals of gold and call it national honours than to give polithiefcians awards. People who are consciously destroying and bringing down the nation with their mediocrity are granted award? That nation is a sorry lot! If you are awarding thieves and rogues, then you are ruled by same. Thieves award thieves, rogues award rogues. You cannot award and give appraisals on what you do not like or support. You say you want change, but you are doing the same thing over and over again. Exhalting mediocrity and expecting excellence, is ridiculous. How can the nation change when you keep retaining people in power who appraise corrupt people? Dear Nigerians, your destiny is yours. While you languish in mediocrity the rest of the world is pushing ahead. Shed the skin of corrupt mediocre polothiefcians in your mist that you may be made light to trudge forward.

Wickedness at its peak! woman who suffered horrific burns after being set ablaze by jealous wife of a man she met briefly at a party is set to remove her mask for the first time

The woman above was set ablaze by a jealous wife of a man she briefly met at a party !!!

She was doused with methylated spirits and set on fire by a woman jealous of her beauty two and a half years ago in a horrific premeditated attack to 'ruin her pretty face'.

On Sunday, after 30 months of agonising reconstructive surgery and more than 30 procedures, Dana Vulin will take off the mask that she's been forced to wear to cover her burnt face.
The 28-year-old suffered third-degree burns to two thirds of her body, including her face, and has endured constant pain since the horrific attack.
'In my wildest dreams in the beginning I didn't for one second think I could look in the mirror and see the old Dana again,.
Ms Vulin was on her sofa at home in Perth, Western Australia on February 16, 201, when a woman's voice said: 'Hello, Dana.'
Natalie Dimitrovska, the jealous estranged wife of a man named Edin who Ms Vulin had met at a New Year’s Eve party, stood before her.
Dimitrovska hurled a bottle of methylated spirits over Ms Vulin, a convicted drug user, while she was reportedly holding a lamp used for smoking crystal meth.

'I was pretty much instantly on fire,' a weeping Ms Vulin told Western Australia's District Court. 'I was a human fireball.'
'The moment I was on fire, Dimitrovska and a male accomplice just laughed and ran out of my apartment,' she added.

Cameron makes surprise visit to Afghanistan .

David Cameron went unannounced to visit Afghanistan to meet with the new unity government, the first major Western leader to visit since an election stalemate was resolved, easing threats of armed conflict.

In a speech in a joint press conference he paid tribute to the British soldiers who lost their lives fighting the Taliban and said 'together we have made Afghanistan and Britain safer'.
It came as it emerged that the RAF squadron targeting Isis terrorists in Iraq was actually due to be disbanded in April 2015. It will now be reprieved.
Cameron's convoy arrived at the presidential palace in Kabul early on Friday and he was seen entering the compound for meetings.

With the UK drawing to the close of its 13-year military involvement in the country, the Prime Minister said that Britain had gone 'a long way' towards achieving its objectives there.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the 453 UK servicemen and women who have died in the course of operations in the country as well as to those who had been injured.
'They (the armed forces) have paid a very high price for our engagement in Afghanistan. They have done vital work here,' he said.
'We should remember those who paid the ultimate price and those who were injured through the work they did.'

He continued: 'This year again, Afghan forces have proved to the Taliban once again that their aims will not be achieved through violence and intimidation.
'If the Taliban want to secure a role in the future of Afghanistan then they must accept that they have to give up violence and engage in the political process.'
He said the UK would continue to support the Afghan National Officer academy in the capital, and would be providing £178 million a year until 2017 to 'sustain the major progress' the country had made on education, health and other public services.

Ebola victim in Dallas is from Liberia. ..(photo)

The Ebola patient was named today as Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian national who had traveled to the U.S. from Liberia on September 20 to visit his family.
His sister Mai Wureh said her sick brother told officials the first time he went to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital that he was visiting from the West African country in the so-called 'Ebola hot zone' - before he was sent home with antibiotics, a critically missed opportunity to prevent others being exposed to the disease.

Mr Duncan is now in a 'serious but stable condition' and has been quarantined since Sunday - although he was in the U.S. for almost a week before being isolated. He is 'awake, talking and asking for food', doctors said today.

According to The New York Times Duncan worked for shipping company in the Liberian capital Monrovia but had recently quit his job and gotten a visa to come to the U.S.
The TImes also revealed that Mr Duncan may contracted Ebola while helping carrying his landlord's seriously ill daughter to hospital. She passed away from the virus the following day. The landlord's son and two neighbors who came in contact with the woman also died.

Check out dis Anti-Rape Device. (Mahalo Cindy P.)Photo

Ehlers created a product she called Rapex. It resembles a tube, with barbs inside. The woman inserts it like a tampon and any man who tries to rape the woman impales himself on the barbs and must go to an emergency room to have the Rapex removed.
Rape has become endemic in South Africa, so a medical technician named Sonette Ehlers developed a product for woman to fight back. Ehlers had never forgotten a rape victim telling her forlornly, "If only I had teeth down there."
Some critics say this is a medieval punishment.

What do you think about this device ? Please feel free to share your thoughts via comments . I appreciate it
